Graceful Play.”
A Sunday workshop for all who want to move with greater comfort while nourishing their creative life. In this work, we explore presence, balance, effort, alignment, breath, and our relationship with gravity and our environment – human and non-human. Benefits are felt not only in ease of movement, but also on all other levels – thought, feeling, sensing and intuition. The creative space opens when we are not stuck in chronic muscular patterns and habitual reactions. We can come to this space surprisingly quickly through gentle, meditative exploration of the way we use our spine, eyes, ears, legs, hands, breath, voice, shoulders, etc.
This is an introductory seminar, sponsored by the Hornby Island Feldenkrais Institute (HiFi). There will be more classes in August.
David Kaetz is a Feldenkrais teacher and professional musician. He teaches in Canada and Europe; his specialty is the relationship among the Feldenkrais work, spirituality and the creative life.
