Explore the answer on May 17th at the Hornby and Denman Community Health Care Society’s Age-friendly presentation. Through a grant from the Union of BC Municipalities’ Seniors Support and Housing Initiative, the Society initiated an assessment of Hornby and Denman Islands as Age-friendly communities. The intention of this project is to assist us in assessing the current needs of our seniors in order to plan ways to support independence and wellness in the future.
The first phase of the project is complete; the results of a community survey and focus groups have been compiled, along with an analysis of population statistics and a comprehensive report has been written by Shari Dunnet, Gerald Hodge and Wendy Johnstone.
Join us at 2pm on Thursday, May 17th at New Horizons. Highlights from the report will be presented as well as information about the next steps of the project and some new opportunities the Health Care Society is pursuing.
