Free Expression Painting Workshop
June 6th, 7th, & 8th - Hornby Hall
Free Expression Painting is a wonderful and powerful tool for exploring your unique creative voice and discovering your own inherent creativity. This workshop is for both beginners (who have always dreamed about painting) and those with a professional practice. Past experience has consistently shown this workshop to be an amazing tool for opening oneself to the discovery of the magic of the creative expression that lies within.
The cost of the workshop is $295.00 and this includes all materials except a few inexpensive paint brushes and some simple items from home. There is, as always, two spaces available at a lower cost if finances are a concern for anyone. The cost of these spaces is based on individual circumstances and they are offered in return for helping with the set up and tear down of the workshop. If cost is an issue for you or someone you know who you think would benefit from this experience then please don't hesitate to contact me.
"....I wanted to thank you for the painting course...it has changed me and been an amazing catalyst for my work. I recently won one of the Herbert Siebner awards for a painting I did as a direct result of the course..... I would not have done that painting without it!"

Live at the Thatch - Friday Night Jazz
Perched above the shore with the ocean lapping at its feet, the Thatch pub is the first sight to greet islanders and visitors as they arrive on Hornby Island. Every Friday evening at 7:00 pm, Annie Siegel (piano, vocals) comes over from Denman Island to join Dana Inglis (bass), Darryl Bohn (drums), Tony Wilson (guitar) and Nick McGowan (tenor saxophone) at the Thatch to make wonderful music. Friday Night Jazz at the Thatch has been a fixture on the Hornby calendar since 1990 and is not to be missed!
For more information call The Thatch at 250-335-2833
In July, 2006, Hornby Jazz Band released their first CD "Live at the Thatch" This CD grew out of a desire to capture the essence of Friday Night Jazz. Contact: liltrib@mars.ark.com for more information or to order a copy.
