Deirdre Baker Reads From
Becca at Sea
May 24 at 3pm
Jan's Café in the Ringside Market
32 Books co. is pleased to announce that Deirdre Baker will be reading from her novel, Becca at Sea at the Ringside Market. Questions and discussion will follow this event for story-lovers age 9 and up.
"To call Becca at Sea a rite-of-passage novel is to diminish its subtlety... a beautifully paced,
perfectly pitched narrative in the voice of a girl caught in the eddy between babyhood and teenage-hood...
delineates the subtle ripening of self in the midst of fully fleshed family members and friends."

Family Dance
Every Second Friday Starting Feb. 1
9 - Midnight, Stretch and warmup is at 8:30
Dance Friday is intended to be a new and regular community event, and will be held every two weeks at the Hall on Friday nights. They are family dances and kids are welcome. The emphasis in the music will be world beat, and these are not DJ/techno events, we will be playing songs.
This is a nonprofit event and your $5 door admission all gets turned back to the dances. If we at some point have more than we need for cleanup or refreshments kitties we will donate overage to the Radio Society.
We seek door and cleanup volunteers, and perhaps a person who is willing to come and entertain kids for awhile. Please call 5-1336 if you can help. See you on the dance floor! - PCP
